Wai Shim

Hi! I’m Ms Wai Shim and I am glad to be part of the team at Swallows and Amazons Kindergarten.

I’ve been an early childhood educator since 2016 and have taught in local preschools and international preschools. Through my teaching experiences, I am familiar with the Singapore educational framework, Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) and UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

I also completed my Master of Education (Early Childhood) at the Nanyang Technological University in 2023.

Swallows and Amazons focuses on the children’s EQ and their multiple intelligences into IQ philosophy resonates deeply in my own teaching philosophy. In today’s society where much emphasis is placed on academic achievement, I truly believe that it is critical for children to have the capacity and ability to regulate their emotions and behaviors before learning can take place. As educators, we are to empower them with the skills to be curious and competent learners recognising that each individual child is unique and special in their own way. Partnership with you is important to your child’s development.

Fun Fact: I enjoy travelling and a cup of coffee. My hope is to be able to taste 30 coffee blends around the world when I travel!
