Karen Chuang

My name is Karen Chuang and I am the Class Teacher for Hornbills Pre-Nursery Class. Currently, I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education-Teaching (from NIEC) on top of my Bachelors Degree in Arts & Social Sciences (from NUS).

Prior coming to SAA, I worked as a Preschool Teacher for Nursery levels in the local preschools upon attaining the Diploma in Early childhood. Prior to that I was a a stay-at-home mum to my 3 children whom I also homeschooled for a certain period as we were living overseas. I have also been actively involved in volunteering teaching activities with mostly underprivileged children or children with special needs, both overseas and locally.

Having a great passion in working with young children, I enjoy my work as an Early Childhood Educator. I believe in nurturing children through building a good rapport and exercising great patience with them. I am highly committed in instilling in children a love for learning through play and authentic experiences. I strongly believe that every child is teachable and a genius in their own way. As educators, we are here to support and help them become motivated and confident learners through providing a safe, caring and warm learning environment for them.

I chose to join SAA as I also truly believe in its teaching philosophy of putting EQ into IQ. Children need to develop a strong emotional well-being become they can become confident and successful individuals. I am very excited to join this child-centred family and look forward to a wonderful learning journey with your child.
