I enjoy working in Swallows and Amazons because of the colleagues as they are kind, understanding and fun to work with. As a teaching assistant, I learnt new ways and methods in teaching the children such as "learning through play". I enjoy observing the children playing and use their imagination to build things out of the toys that they are playing with their friends. I also enjoy interacting with the children.

I enjoy interacting with the children. The teachers get along and cooperate well together. They are also very helpful. The boss and principal are friendly and reasonable.

转眼间加入SAA这个大家庭已经半年了。在这里我学习到了新的教学理念，putting the EQ into the IQ, 让孩子们在学习知识的同时更重要的是学习与他人相处以及处事方式。同时这里也遇到了热情可爱的同事们，当遇到了不懂的事情时， 同事们都会很热情给予帮助，初来乍到时难免会有紧张感，但很快这种紧张感就消失了。很开心也很荣幸在这里能够担任华文老师一职，希望在未来的日子里能够学到更多。

In a blink of an eye, I have joined the SAA family for 6 months. I have learnt a new teaching concept - putting EQ into IQ. While learning new knowledge is important, it is also important to learn how to get along with others and how to do things. I have also met enthusiastic and lovely colleagues. When I encounter something that I do not understand, they would willingly help me. Even though I was nervous when I first started, but this anxiety disappeared very quickly. I am very happy and honoured to be a Mandarin Teacher here and hope to learn more in the days to come.

I believe that children deserve to learn in an inclusive classroom and that every child should be able to receive high quality education without any discrimination. SAA is undoubtedly the place where all children are accepted and acknowledged regardless of skills and abilities. As SAA's philosophy is 'putting the EQ into IQ', I believe that play helps to develop positive attitudes in children towards learning. Not only that, it is also fun and rewarding working with like-minded people who are exceptionally collaborative.

Children have an innate desire for enquiry and exploration. I have often seen that making a child do something for the sake of doing it, will not develop their curiosity for learning. Instead, we have to simulate, nurture and strengthen the love of learning in children before they start loving to learn from us. This is the very spirit embodied here at Swallows and Amazons and what makes it an absolute pleasure working with my SAA family!

I have been working at Swallows and Amazons for the last 12 years, almost since the starting of the school. During this period of time, I have grown from a class teacher to being the current Head Teacher of the school. This would only have been possible because Ms Jackie has given me continuous support and opportunities to upgrade myself.

I love the small and cosy environment where every teacher knows each child’s name and vice versa. Moreover, the Swallows and Amazons’ mission – putting EQ into IQ does not stop at the curriculum and with the children and their families but with each other, the vendors, cleaners and visitors who pass through our gates daily. As I walk through the classrooms, the children are always happy and engaged in their learning - that is a joyful sight to see and it motivates me to come to work each day!
