Dhalia Maccullum

Hello! I'm Ms Dhalia, and I am really excited to be part of the teaching team at Swallows and Amazons Kindergarten.

I’ve been an early childhood professional since 2016 and have taught in various local and international preschools. I hold a First Class honours degree in Early Childhood Studies from Birmingham City University (UK) and a Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (SG). Through my studies, I am knowledgeable in both Singapore’s EYDF/NEL and the UK’s EYFS/KS educational frameworks. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Education, specialising in Early Childhood Leadership.

As a passionate early childhood professional and also a mother, I view each child as an individual. My priority is to provide a positive and safe learning environment so as to encourage young learners to express their thoughts and abilities, leading to their own optimal holistic development. I'm a strong advocate for learning through play, and I believe in including age-appropriate play-based experiences to enrich children's learning and development of key skills such as inquiry, expression, experimentation, and teamwork. I hope it will be a year of magical wonder and amazing growth for your little stars.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family.

 

I look forward to building relationships based on trust and respect with all the children and their families. It's going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of explorations, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us.

Fun Fact: I love the cold weather and skiing.
